Biography

Ligia Pamfilie is an Instructional Designer with the Office for Teaching and Learning (OTL). Ligia has a love for the field of education and a passion for learning and helping others achieve their potential. Having worked on both sides of the teaching process – as an educator and technical liaison, Ligia brings not only a fresh perspective, but a fusion of pedagogical methods with strong technical skills. Ligia’s methods are driven by creativity, a commitment to the students’ success, and the individual needs of the classrooms.


Ligia earned a M. A. in History of Literature and Literary Criticism Systems, and a B. A. with a double major in Romanian Language and Literature and English Language and Literature. She has published in national Romanian literary magazines and attended the Harvard Extension School. Ligia is also a Socrates scholarship recipient, which enabled her to teach in Italy. Prior to joining OTL, Ligia was part of Wayne State University’s Blackboard Support Team where she collaborated closely with faculty to test, develop, support, and provide guidance as well as solutions to assist in their endeavors to deliver a modern learning experience integrated with technology.
