Ligia Pamfilie

I am Ligia Pamfilie, an Instructional Designer with the Office for Teaching & Learning (OTL). My love for the field of education, combined with a passion for learning and helping others achieve their potential motivates my work. Having been on both sides of the teaching process – as an educator and technical liaison, I strive to bring not only a fresh perspective, but a fusion of pedagogical methods with strong technical skills. I love being able to share strategies for students’ success and support instructors in designing courses that help students succeed.

I started my career teaching Romanian and English language and literature to high school students. Then, being a Socrates scholarship recipient, allowed me to teach at an Italian public school. Teaching and living in Italy forever changed me. Being able to learn a foreign language, explore the local culture, and make new friends inspired me to continue to learn and grow both on a personal level and academically.

Teaching students with varied levels of academic readiness, opened my eyes to the importance of designing courses with all learners in mind. Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Inclusive Syllabus and Course Design are some of the frameworks that guide my design process and I continue to be curious about.
