Biography

Hi, I'm Carly and I'm the Program Coordinator. I joined the OTL team in Fall 2021. My job is to plan, promote, and assess OTL programming like webinars, workshops, and speaker series. I also support the day-to-day organization and communication in the office, including answering incoming questions and connecting instructors to the right consultants for their needs.

Before my time at Wayne State, I was an advisor/instructor for international and multilingual students at a small liberal arts college in Minnesota. In addition to direct student support, I held consultations with faculty, developed materials, and collaborated with other offices to develop and assess campus programming promoting linguistic diversity. I have been teaching various college courses since 2007, including ESL, composition, literary studies, linguistics, and academic support courses, both in person and online.

In my free time I like sewing, reading, camping, and biking. My favorite activity is to walk to my favorite coffee shop and hang out with a good book.
