Graduate Student Assistant
Alamia Annous
Biography
Hi! My name is Alamia Annous (pronounced Uh-LAM-yuh Uh-NOOS), and I am the Graduate Student Assistant at the Office for Teaching and Learning. My professional expertise stems from my nine years of teaching experience in a range of different institutions and age groups. I have taught both in Lebanon and in the US and I have taught elementary school, middle school and high school as well as ESL at different language centers here and abroad. My latest teaching experience was teaching ENG 1020 Introductory College Writing as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) in the English department at Wayne State University.
As a graduate student at the OTL, my job is to support instructors, especially GTAs, in their teaching journey. I do that by developing resources for GTAs such as workshops and the Pedagogy Journal Club and working with them one-on-one in consultations.
When I’m not at the OTL, I’m working on my PhD studies in English and thinking about clouds in the sky.
